Kentuck Stomps Out BullyingKentuck Elementary Stomps Out Bullying:

Kentuck Elementary School students and faculty wore blue on October 1st to promote unity among our students and send a positive message that all students will be treated kindly. The guidance counselor discussed some positive ways to show friendship over the intercom as well as working with the Pittsylvania County Community Services, who donated Red Ribbon materials and banners to be used to send positive friendship building messages throughout the month of October.

Our PreK- First Grade students were read the book, Spookly, the Square Pumpkin, and each time someone made fun of Spookly the students wrinkled a paper heart to show how hurtful teasing can be. When characters in the book were kind, the paper heart was smoothed out to show that Spookly’s heart was happy and whole. Grades 2-5 will each be given a Paw print outline. The students will write on their Paw how to be a friend to others. These Paws will be displayed throughout the school and classrooms.
